State to unveil new license plate design
ATLANTA — Gov. Nathan Deal is scheduled to unveil the newest Georgia license plate design today.
The Department of Revenue this week announced the three finalists as part of its Georgia License Plate Design Contest. More than 500 design entries were submitted by the public.
A panel of Georgia college and university art professors helped narrow the entries to eight semifinalists.
“The Department is pleased with the response to our License Plate Design Contest,” State Revenue Commissioner Doug MacGinnitie said in a news release. “A total of 412,098 online votes were recorded. We extend our appreciation to everyone who submitted artwork for consideration and offer congratulations to the three Finalists.”
