(The DeFeo Groupe)

Tuesday’s election was hardly a blue wave, delivering mixed results nationwide.

Both Democrats and Republicans claimed several key victories. Here are some of the top storylines:

  • Democrats picked up at least 26 seats in the House to take control of the chamber
  • Republicans retained control of the Senate and picked up at least three seats
  • Democrats disappointed in Florida, losing the governor’s race
  • Democrats picked up a key victory in Wisconsin as Democrat Tony Evers knocked off Republican Gov. Scott Walker
  • In Georgia, Republican Brian Kemp pick up 38 percent of the Latino vote, according to WSB-AM
  • Republicans had to put up a considerable fight to retain Ted Cruz’s Senate seat in Texas
  • It could be a few days before the winner of the Senate race pitting Democrat Kyrsten Sinema against Republican Martha McSally is decided
