Kemp leading Abrams, race still undecided

Republican Brian Kemp leads Democrat Stacey Abrams in the race for Georgia governor, but neither side has conceded or declared victory.

If the margin holds, Kemp will win the election outright. If there is a runoff (should neither candidate garner more than 50 percent of the vote), it would be the first ever runoff in a governor’s race in Georgia.

According to early numbers, it appears 1.3 million more people voted in this year’s race than in the 2014 gubernatorial race.
