U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, defeated former Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.

Blackburn was first elected to the U.S. House in 2002.

Bredesen garnered the support of several celebrities, most notably Taylor Swift. When it comes to Bredesen’s loss, she’ll have to “shake it off.”
