Thousands celebrate Easter atop Stone Mountain
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — Thousands ascended to the top of Stone Mountain this morning for a sunrise Easter service.
“I just wanted to be closer to my Lord and Jesus and Savior,” WGCL-TV quoted one attendee as saying.
This year marked the 74th year of the service.
“What a wonderful event it is. Thousands of people come out each year to celebrate our Savior. This means so much to us because we are born again, believers in Jesus Christ,” WSB-TV quoted Stone Mountain Sunrise Association President Lamar Williams as saying.
