Entrepreneur Keynotes Buckhead Business Association’s Annual Luncheon

Entrepreneur, author, rapper and part-owner of the Atlanta Hawks Jesse Itzler will provide the keynote address during the Buckhead Business Association’s Annual Luncheon in January.

During the event, the BBA will bestow awards to difference makers in the Buckhead community, including Business of the Year, Entrepreneurs of the Year and Buckhead Business Beautification awards. The civic organization will also present the Sam Massell Bullish on Buckhead award, which the group last year renamed in honor of former Atlanta Mayor Sam Massell.

Itzler founded Marquis Jet in 2001 and is married Sara Blakely, the founder of Buckhead-based Spanx. He will address the organization at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center.

“My occupation or what I do for a living is building a life résumé,” the Atlanta Jewish Times quoted Itzler as saying in August. “I don’t dwell on victories. I look for the next challenge. The harder, the more alive I feel. I am not one to quit. I push past discomfort. Yes, my occupation is to squeeze every ounce out of life.”

Reporter Newspapers, publisher of The Buckhead Reporter and other community-centric newspapers, is the presenting sponsor. The Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center is an in-kind sponsor.

“There are so many contributors who make Buckhead the vaunted community it is, and this event gives us an opportunity to honor a few of those contributors,” BBA Executive Director Smita Solanki said. “We are excited to celebrate the successes of today, and we look forward to the future of the Buckhead community.”

Tickets are $75 for BBA members and $85 for non-members and are available for purchase through the BBA’s website. Tables of 10 seats are $700 for members and $765 for non-members.
