Atlanta Police Chief Recognized For Leadership Efforts

Atlanta Police Chief George N. Turner was nominated for a 2014 Leadership Character Award by the Robert K. Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership and Atlanta-based Turknett Leadership Group.

Turner was nominated in the large company category and the award recognizes Georgia leaders who demonstrate outstanding character in leadership.

Turner is a 33-year veteran of the Atlanta Police Department. Under his leadership, major crimes including homicide, rape and robbery are down 18 percent. During his career at the Atlanta Police Department, Chief Turner rose through the ranks, holding 18 different positions and significantly contributing to the Department’s expansion.
