See who Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police named as Chief of the Year

The Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP) named Marietta Police Chief Dan Flynn Chief of the Year.

The organization announced its honoree during the GACP Summer Conference in Savannah, Ga., this week.

Flynn started his career in law enforcement in 1973 with the Miami–Dade Police Department. He has held various ranks and has been recognized for numerous accomplishments during his (44) years in law enforcement. He served as Savannah police chief before taking the helm of the Marietta Police Department in 2007.

GACP incorporated in 1962 and this is only the second time in their history that a chief has received the award twice. Flynn was previously selected as the GACP “Chief of the Year” in 2011.
