Handel, Ossoff: It all ends tomorrow

ATLANTA — The political battle to replace Republican Tom Price ends tomorrow.

Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel face off in a June 20 special election. The two candidates were the top two vote-getters in an April election.

Ossoff notched 48.1 percent of the vote to Handel’s 19.8 percent. Since neither candidate picked up a majority of the ballots cast in the crowded 18-candidate race, the race heads to a runoff.

The race has garnered national interest, and many media outlets are positioning the race as an early referendum of President Trump. Campaign ads have inundated radio and television airwaves citywide, and many residents say they will be delighted when the race is over so they no longer have to endure political ads.
