WSJ: More trucking companies using big rigs for dedicated fleets

Trucking companies are using more of their trucks for clients’ dedicated fleets, a response to falling freight prices, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Dedicated fleets “have swelled over the past year, even as large trucking companies cut the overall number of vehicles they operate,” the newspaper reported. This is particularly the case for “spot market” loads that are arranged at the last minute.
