ATLANTA — Voters in South Fulton County will head to the polls Nov. 8 and decide whether to incorporate.

If they choose to vote for creating the city of South Fulton, Fulton County will be the first county in Georgia to be wholly comprised of incorporated areas, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported.

Fulton County voters in recent years have opted to incorporate portions of the county, including Johns Creek, Milton and Sandy Springs.

Some elected officials, including Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, told the Atlanta Business Chronicle incorporation is not in the best interest of residents.
