City Councilwoman Mary Norwood is the latest to throw her hat into the ring. Others running for the post are:

  • Former city Chief Operating Officer Peter Aman
  • Al Bartell
  • Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall
  • Debra Hampton
  • State Rep. Margaret Kaiser, D-Atlanta
  • Atlanta City Council President Ceasar Mitchell
  • Kimberley Johnson Obasuyi
  • Former Atlanta City Councilman and current Fulton County Commissioner Robb Pitts
  • Former Atlanta Workforce Development Agency Director Michael Sterling
  • Tommy Youngblood Jr.

Norwood was nearly elected mayor in 2009 but fell about 700 votes short to current Mayor Kasim Reed.
