The New York Mets have placed third baseman David Wright on the disabled list retroactive to May 30 with a herniated disk in his neck.

“The injury will require six-to-eight weeks of rest from baseball activities during which David will undergo appropriate physiotherapy to protect the area,” the team said in a statement. “After the rest period, David will resume baseball activity.”

The Mets have recalled infielder Matt Reynolds. He will be in uniform for tonight’s game in Miami.
