Work begins on new Smyrna subdivision

SMYRNA, Ga. — Work on a new subdivision in Smyrna has started.

The proposed 36-house subdivision is located along Concord Road between Hurt Road and the Covered Bridge District. The new development sits on a 12.12-acre plot that once served as a family farm.

In a June 2015 email to constituents, Smyrna City Councilman Ron Fennel noted:

An approved project for single-family housing on the 12.12 acre site of the former Tackett family farm remains stalled while engineering of the water/sewer infrastructure is properly resolved. The proposed neighborhood of 36 homes is expected to be named Westbrook Park.
