ATLANTA — Atlanta police have arrested two people in the 1991 slaying of an 11-year-old boy.

Police on Friday charged Raymond McDaniel and Roderick Clark with murder. Both men were booked into the Fulton County Jail.

According to investigators, 11-year-old Jeremiah Anderson was fatally shot after several men scattered following a shooting on Martin Street on Nov. 9, 1991. Anderson was shot once in the back and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Around 11 p.m. that day, McDaniel and Clark arrived at the Martin Street location where people were gambling. The two emerged from a stolen vehicle, one brandishing an assault rifle and the other with a handgun. Both suspects opened fire as the people, including Anderson, began to flee.

“We’re determined no matter how old the case is, there’s no statute of limitations on murder and if you committed a murder in any year, 1970, and we open that case back up, and you’re still living, we’ll come after you,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quoted Atlanta Police Det. Vince Velazquez as telling WSB-TV.
