Attorney, utility president and author on tap for BBA appearances

An intellectual property attorney, the head of a leading provider of natural gas and a popular author are on tap to speak to the Buckhead Business Association (BBA) in coming weeks.

Atlanta attorney Sonia Lakhany will address the BBA during its breakfast meeting on Aug. 27. Lakhany focuses on on trademark and copyright prosecution and in addition to corporate and transactional law.

Kevin Greiner, president and CEO of GasSouth, will speak to the organization on Sept. 10. The Atlanta-based utility company serves about 280,000 business, governmental and residential customers in Georgia and Florida.

Becky Blalock will give remarks to the group on Sept. 17. Blalock is a managing partner at Advisory Capital consulting firm and the author of “Dare: Straight Talk on Confidence, Courage, and Career for Women in Charge.”

The BBA meets at 7:30 a.m. most Thursday mornings at the City Club of Buckhead and features a mix of business, political and civic leaders as speakers. Tickets for members are $10 in advance and $12 at the door; non-member tickets are $20.

Meanwhile, the BBA is also preparing for September’s Taste of Buckhead. The event brings together some of Buckhead’s hottest chefs and restaurants.

The event runs from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 at the historic Buckhead Theatre. General admission tickets are $50 and VIP tickets are $75. As part of the event, attendees can taste dishes from premier restaurants and sample more than 50 wines, beers and spirits.
