Atlanta police chief named president of state police chiefs association

Atlanta Police Chief George Turner has been named the 2015-16 president of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP).

Turner, a 34-year veteran of the Atlanta Police Department, assumed his new role on July 28. He recently completed a one-year term as the GACP 1st vice president.

The organization is responsible for training the state’s top law enforcement officers and is the largest professional association for law enforcement administrators in Georgia.
