Dogly presents $1,000 grant to Georgia Jack Russell Adoptions

Dogly co-founder Jane Turner recently presented a $1,000 grant to Georgia Jack Russell Rescue, Adoption & Sanctuary.

Turner presented the grant during their Dogwood Jack Russell Terrier Fun Day in Conyers, Ga. As part of the event, more than 30 Jack Russell Terriers competed in agility and speed contests, and adopters had the opportunity to meet adoptable terriers.

“When we created Dogly, our dream was to bring together social media and social good – a way for dog lovers to get creative, celebrate the dogs they love, and do good together for rescue dogs,” Turner said.

On hand for the event was state Rep. Joe Wilkinson, R-Atlanta, who in March introduced House Bill 561. The bill was not passed by the state legislature this past session, but could be revived when the body reconvenes in January.

“I cannot begin to say how grateful I am for all the wonderful workers and volunteers at the Jack Russell Rescue Ranch in Conyers,” Wilkinson said.

“It was great to join Dogly, a startup that’s using tech to shine a light on wonderful, adoptable dogs, in recognizing Georgia Jack Russell Rescue’s work with a Dogly Do Good grant,” Wilkinson added.“I learned so much about Jack Russell terriers and now I have an even greater appreciation for those who are rescuing and finding them happy homes.”

“We are a small but mighty rescue who has struggled to earn grants for years. Dogly has provided a fun and creative way for our supporters to share the love for both their dogs and our rescue,” said Donna Durham, owner of Georgia Jack Russell Rescue, Adoption & Sanctuary.“The app has given us a chance to celebrate and share our amazing dogs’ stories in an upbeat and positive way. No sad shelters here.

“The Dogly photos we upload show their wonderful personalities for the whole world to see and Dogly engages our supporters from literally every corner of the world,” Durham added. The opportunity they provide for rescues, big or small, to go above and beyond is just amazing.”
