Bill to create City of Conyers Public Facilities Authority heads to Ga. governor

The Georgia House of Representatives on April 2 unanimously passed a measure to create the City of Conyers Public Facilities Authority.

Senate Bill 231, sponsored by state Sen. Ronald Ramsey, D-Lithonia, now heads to Gov. Nathan Deal for his review.

“This bill will ensure there is an assigned authority present to aide in the construction, financing or improvement of projects in the city of Conyers,” Ramsey said in a statement. “I’m thankful to my colleague, Rep. Pam Dickerson, for sponsoring the bill in the House of Representatives. I look forward to Gov. Deal’s signature to make sure SB 231 is utilized at its fullest potential for the award-winning City of Conyers.”

SB 231 will allow the City of Conyers Public Facilities Authority to decide what actions to take regarding real and personal property of every kind for corporate purposes. It will also allow them choose and appoint officers, agents or others for employment in the construction of these projects.
