Invesco, BNY Mellon Employees Join Atlanta Athletes to Repaint Humphries Elementary Media Center

ATLANTA — Employee volunteers from Invesco and BNY Mellon joined Atlanta Hawks forward Mike Muscala and former Atlanta Falcons running back Jamal Anderson to help repaint the media center at Humphries Elementary School in Atlanta.

Thursday’s effort was coordinated through the DreamBuilders Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with professional athletes to support programs that benefit kids nationwide.

The repainting of the school’s media center was part of a larger library overhaul at Humphries Elementary. The renovation, funded by Atlanta-based Invesco, also includes new blinds, furniture and rugs, which will make the library more functional for students.

The school is also adding a new aquarium in the media center for students’ enjoyment.

“More than anything, we had a lot of fun today helping repaint the media center for students’ future use and enjoyment,” Invesco Chief Financial Officer Loren Starr said. “It’s a great feeling to know that our efforts will help Humphries Elementary students with their learning for years to come.”

In addition to their time volunteering, Muscala and Anderson also spent time Thursday with a number of Humphries Elementary students.
