Perdue wins Senate seat in Georgia

Republican businessman David Perdue knocked off Democrat Michelle Nunn to win a vacant U.S. Senate seat in Georgia.

With most votes in, Perdue had 53 percent of the votes to Nunn’s 45 percent. Libertarian Amanda Swafford received nearly 2 percent of the vote.

Heading into Tuesday’s election, it looked as if no candidate would win the 50 percent needed to avoid a runoff.
