Denison starts year with 35-6 win over Earlham

Colin Morris rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries to help lead Denison to a 35-6 victory over Earlham on Saturday at Darrell Beane Stadium in Richmond, Ind.

Denison’s Brandon Sklenar put up an impressive performance of his own, completing 22 of 35 passes for 191 yards. He also rushed for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

It looked as if the Big Red were content to continue their winning ways of last season. Denison’s 7-3 mark in 2013 was the most wins in a single season for Denison since 1986, when the school posted a 9-1 mark under the guidance of legendary coach Keith Piper.

Denison rolled to 422 total offensive yards, including 246 yards on the ground. Matt Couch completed 16 of 33 passes for 178 yards to lead Earlham.

Denison travels to Hiram next week. Earlham hosts Capital next week.
