Donald Named to CFPA All-Purpose Performer Watch List

MACON, Ga. – Mercer University’s JeTarii Donald added to the team’s growing list of preseason awards, as he was named to the 2014 College Football Performance Awards All-Purpose Performer Watch List. Donald was one of 30 returning players from the NCAA’s Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) to receive recognition.

Donald led the team in all-purpose yards in 2013, racking up 1,444 yards to go along with nine touchdowns. He ranked second on the team with 874 rushing yards, while adding 10 receptions for 160 yards. The Nashville, Tenn. native was one of the top kick returners for the Bears as well, averaging 20.8 yards per return on the year.

The sophomore running back is the sixth Bear to garner preseason recognition from the CFPA this year, as tight end Robert Brown, punt returner JT Palmer, quarterback John Russ, running back Payton Usher and placekicker Tyler Zielenske were each named to the watch list for their respective positions this summer.

The goal of College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferment in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. Twenty-eight CFPA winners have been first-round NFL Draft selections.

Mercer is nearly two weeks away from its 2014 season opener against Reinhardt on August 28.
