Mercer Football Reports for 2014 Preseason Camp

MACON, Ga. – Mercer University welcomed its football student-athletes to campus on Tuesday, as 95 players officially reported to the Homer and Ruth Drake Field House in preparation for the start of preseason camp.

“We are excited to get our guys back on campus and have the entire team together as a unit,” said head coach Bobby Lamb. “Last season’s 10-2 finish has turned the attention of Macon and Middle Georgia to Mercer University football and we are ready to get to work and start preparing for a new league and a new challenge.”

The Bears will open up their 17-day fall camp with conditioning tests on Wednesday morning, before holding their first official practice later in the day at 4 p.m. Mercer’s preseason schedule features 18 practices and a pair of intersquad scrimmages on Aug. 9 and Aug. 14.
