ATLANTA — Georgia State will play a non-conference football game at Penn State in 2017, the two schools announced Thursday.
The Panthers and Nittany Lions will meet Sept. 16, 2017 at Penn State’s Beaver Stadium, which is the second-largest college football stadium in the nation with a capacity of 106,572.
Since starting its football program in 2010, Georgia State has played non-conference games at traditional powers such as Alabama (2010 and 2013), Tennessee (2012) and West Virginia (2013), and the Panthers will travel to Washington and Clemson this fall.
The game at Penn State is the latest addition to GSU’s future non-conference slate, which also features trips to Oregon in 2015 and Wisconsin in 2016. In addition to the Nittany Lions, the 2017 schedule currently includes a contest at Charlotte.
