James Magazine names Ga. Sen. Judson Hill as ‘Legislator of the Year’

James Magazine has named Sen. Judson Hill, R-Marietta, its 2014 “Legislator of the Year.”

The honor was listed in the magazine’s annual edition of the most influential Georgians, a distinction given to leading individuals in business, government, politics, education, science and the arts.

“I am humbled to be recognized among such a respected group of Georgia leaders,” Hill said in a statement. “The legislature made some tough but necessary decisions this year, but these are decisions that will create a positive impact for years to come.”

First elected in 2004, Sen. Hill currently serves as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and secretary of the Senate Insurance and Labor Committee. Hill is also a member of the Senate Appropriations, Health and Human Services, Judiciary, Rules and Regulated Industries Committees.
