Ga. House committee approves bill adding MLK statue to Capitol grounds

ATLANTA — A proposal to place a statue of Martin Luther King Jr. on the grounds of the Georgia State Capitol has passed a state House committee.

House Bill 1080, sponsored by state Rep.Calvin Smyre, D-Columbus, passed the State Properties Committee.
