Mercer Football announces spring game

MACON, Ga. – Mercer football will take the field on March 3 for the first 15 spring practices, culminating with the Spring Game April 5, at 3 p.m. at Mercer University Stadium.

All 15 spring practices will be open to the public with weekday practices starting at 8 a.m. and both Saturday practices beginning at 10 a.m.

“After a successful first season, we are excited to get back out on the field and continue to build this program,” head coach Bobby Lamb said. “Our young men have done a tremendous job in the weight room this offseason, but in order to get better as a team we must take full advantage of these 15 days as we prepare to move into the Southern Conference.”

The 2014 Spring Game will take place at 3 p.m. in conjunction with the 4th Annual Big Bear Event that is scheduled later that evening at 6 p.m. inside Hawkins Arena. The event will feature a silent/live auction, refreshments, raffles, prizes, student-athlete award presentations and senior athlete recognition.

The Bears will have 85 student-athletes competing in spring practice and will look to build on a 10-2 record last season that set an NCAA record for victories by a first-year program.
