Reports: Obama wins New Mexico

According to Fox News:

  • Romney: Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Montana, Nebraska (all five electoral votes)
  • Obama: Vermont, Illinois, Delaware, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, the District of Columbia, Maine (all four electoral votes), Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, New Mexico

Several other states, including Virginia, Florida, Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa, Nevada and Ohio remained too close to call.

According to Fox, Obama and Romney are tied with 163 electoral votes.

In other races:

— In Indiana, former U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, a Republican, wsa elected as governor

— In Missouri, Democrat Claire McCaskill won re-election, defeating Republican Todd Akin

— In Massachusetts, Democrat Elizabeth Warren defeated Republican U.S. Sen Scott Brown, according to CBS News

— In Wisconsin, Democrat Tammy Baldwin defeated Republican Tommy Thompson, according to The Washington Post

— In Virginia, Republican Eric Canton, the No. 2 Republican in the House of Representatives, was re-elected

— In Connecticut, Democrat Chris Murphy defeated Republican Linda McMahon to succeed Independent Joe Lieberman

— In Georgia, early returns showed Georgia voters favoring an amendment to the state constitution that would give a state commission the power to authorize public charter schools upon the request of local communities

Fox News and UPI projected Republicans will retain control of the U.S. House of Representatives and possible increase their majority
