Deal to deliver ‘State of the State’ on Tuesday

ATLANTA — Gov. Nathan Deal is set to deliver the annual State of the State during a prime time appearance before the state House on Tuesday.

Georgia Public Broadcasting plans to air the address live statewide and also stream it on its website. The governor is slated to start his day with an appearance before the Chamber of Commerce’s Eggs and Issues breakfast, which will start at 7:30 a.m. at the World Congress Center.

“Both speeches will outline Deal’s vision for increasing Georgia’s economic competitiveness and job creation,” the governor’s office said in a release. “The Eggs and Issues address will focus on tax reform proposals that have come from the Georgia Competitiveness Initiative – which was announced at last year’s Eggs and Issues breakfast. The State of the State will showcase the governor’s building blocks for economic prosperity in Georgia with announcements on education, transportation, health care, criminal justice and government efficiency.”

The 2012 address will be Deal’s second State of the State. For a recap of Deal’s 2010 State of the State, visit http://www.caboosechronicle.com/2011/01/deal-let-us-be-frugal-and-wise.html.
