Former Department of Revenue employee pleads guilty to credit card fraud

A former Department of Revenue employee pleaded guilty to a count of financial transaction card fraud in DeKalb County Superior Court.

While employed by the Department of Revenue, John Richardson used a co-worker’s state-issued gasoline card personal identification number without authorization to fraudulently obtain gasoline for his personal vehicle, according to the attorney general’s office.

Richardson was sentenced by Judge Cynthia J. Becker to 30 days imprisonment and two years probation. In addition, he has been ordered to pay a $1,000.00 fine and restitution in the amount of $69.40 to the Department of Revenue. Charges are pending against co-defendants Marcus Britt, Micah Decuir, William Gladney, and Billy Evans.
