Former federal judge serving sentence in Oklahoma prison

ATLANTA – A former federal judge is serving his one month prison sentence in an Oklahoma prison, according to federal records.

Former Senior U.S. District Judge Jack T. Camp Jr., 67, was sentenced to one month in prison after admitting to possessing and using cocaine, marijuana and Roxycodone and giving money to a convicted felon to purchase cocaine, the FBI said. The ex-judge was also sentenced to one year of supervised release and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and $825 in restitution.

Camp in November pleaded guilty to one count of conversion of government property and two counts of unlawful possession of controlled substances, the FBI said.

Federal authorities arrested Camp Oct. 1 after the former judge tried to purchase drugs from an undercover FBI agent. Camp, who served in the Northern District of Georgia, which includes Metro Atlanta, also admitted that he unlawfully gave a woman – identified as an exotic dancer in numerous published reports – a U.S. District Court laptop computer for her personal use.
