Price seeks to chair Republican Policy Committee

ATLANTA — U.S. Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., said today he is vying to chair the House Republican Policy Committee (RPC).

“Governing is a huge challenge and awesome responsibility,” Price said in a statement. “House Republicans are a remarkably talented group of people, and I have no doubt that we are up to the task. Providing an opportunity for our Republican principles to shine through our policy discussions and presentations is one of the keys to regaining the trust of the American people. This is why it is so important to have a vibrant and active Policy Committee.

“If given the privilege and honor of holding this elected position during the 112th Congress, I pledge to ensure that the RPC serves a central role in a new majority as an incubator of bold, forward thinking policy initiatives,” Price added.

Price has chaired the Republican Study Committee for the last two years.

“In this post, I have always strived to lead with principle and a positive, thoughtful voice,” Price said. “As chairman of the Policy Committee, my vision includes soliciting ideas and support in order to generate sound, comprehensive public policy solutions.”
