Price: Congress could look into NPR funding

ATLANTA — The next Congress could look into federal funding of NPR, at least if one Georgia Congressman has his way.

U.S Rep. Tim Price, R-Ga., indicated Congress could look into the funding following last week's controversial firing of news analyst Juan Williams.

“Whether or not one agrees with Juan Williams' point of view, he has every right to express it,” Price said in a news release

“Considering Washington now runs annual deficits of $1.3 trillion or more, funding a radio network whose executives care more about political correctness than honest and open discussion sounds like a poor use of taxpayer money,” Price said. “I expect this will be one of many areas in which the next Congress looks to decrease spending.”
