‘Shop for the FUTURE’ and feel good about it

Shoppers next month have an opportunity to drop a little cash and feel good about it.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) is hoping to raise $10,000 for its Smart Girls program during the upcoming ‘Shop for the FUTURE’ boutique benefit sale. The sale is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the Youth Art Gallery, located at 63 Auburn Avenue in Atlanta.

The event, which costs $15 (in advance) to attend, will be highlighted by boutique thrift shopping, but the agenda also features cocktails and hors d’oeurves. Herb Mesa, a finalist on this season’s “The Next Food Network Star” created the menu for the event.

Smart Girls, a self-esteem enhancement program for girls between the ages of 8 and 17, is aimed at helping girls reach their full potential.

A number of companies are helping make the event possible – the Coca-Cola Enterprises “Enterprising Women” business network is supporting the event, Mellow Mushroom is the presenting sponsor, Coca-Cola Enterprises is the beverage sponsor and BGCMA partnered with Whole Foods Market on the menu.
