Congressman Violates No-Campaigning Buffer?

ATLANTA, Nov. 1, 2008 — U.S. Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., appeared at an Atlanta voting precinct yesterday, within the 150-foot no-campaigning buffer, according to one voter at the precinct.

“He was walking down the line of people who were there to vote, shaking everyone’s hand,” said the voter who asked to remain anonymous. “He was definitely shaking people’s hands, saying, ‘thanks for coming out, I’m glad you’re here.’”

Lewis is running unopposed.
