Shea Stadium: One Game Left? News Wire

NEW YORK — Shea it ain’t so!

Queens’ Shea Stadium, home to the Mets for the past 44 years, could be facing its final game Sunday, unless the Mets either win and clinch the National League Wild Card spot or continue their season based on one of several other scenarios.

The Mets moved into Shea Stadium in 1964 after playing their first two seasons at Manhattan’s The Polo Grounds. Starting in 2009, the Mets will move next door into the new Citi Field.

The Mets play the Florida Marlins tomorrow night.
