ARCADE, Ga. — There was little more than a bumpy dirt road to lead anyone to the wooden shelter tucked away in the middle of the woods.
But authorities responding Sunday to a call of shots fired stumbled on what they say was a cockfighting and rooster breeding operation in the city of Arcade.
Responding to the call, Arcade police officers on Sunday made their way to the scene off of Woodland Court through thick woods, unsure if a road led to the site. At least two vehicles, possibly filled with people, fled the scene, but police stopped a fleeing pickup truck and arrested the five occupants, officer Chris Stapleton said.
